The hiking of central Mongolian wilderness where great Khangai Mountain ranges and beautiful lakes meet will surely make the most breathtaking experience and perfect hiking adventure in nomadic style.
During this journey, you will witness Mongolian nomadic lifestyle that has been preserved for centuries. It is a rare opportunity that you can both enjoy great hiking in the remote wilderness and learn new cultural insights and befriend with nomads.
Average hiking will be around 12 kms per day depending on the terrain and weather conditions. Some days in summer could even be cold as autumn time in the Khangai mountain range.
In addition to our local nomads, you will be supported by your Hiking Trip Leader, Drivers, and On-Site Cook and Chef. We are always flexible in terms of the itinerary, so we can make changes anytime during our journey. Besides, keep in mind that our hiking in the wilderness will be authentic, but at the same time, we will ensure convenience of your trip in wild nature of Mongolia.

Welcome to your discovery of Mongolia!
Upon your arrival at the airport or train station, your Discovery Mongolia team will welcome you and take you to your hotel centrally located in downtown Ulaanbaatar (UB).
Depending on your arrival time, we can explore the city and enjoy some walking around.
Meals are served accordingly. Stay overnight at your hotel.

Our discovery begins with heading to the west where we settle around Khugnu Khan National Park. The National park is a great contrast to the rocky mountains, dunes, and steppe of the central Mongolian region. Enjoy the natural ambiance and calmness in the national park while having a short hike over Khugnu Mountain to observe the sunset in the steppe.
It is also a great experience to spend the first night in a Mongolian traditional yurt after your welcome dinner at the camp.

After our breakfast, we will visit Erdene Zuu Monastery, one of the most respected and worshipped spiritual centers of Mongolian Buddhism. Located in the exact site of Kharakhorum, the 13th-century capital of the Mongol Empire, Erdene Zuu Monastery is the most spectacular cultural and historical heritage of Mongolia.
After our visit to Erdenezuu Monastery, we will head to the north to reach our base camp near Tsenkher hot spa, a famous site for its natural beauty and healing quality among travelers.

Today we will start our hiking through the surrounding hills and steppes in the remoteness and natural beauty.
We will have a picnic lunch and our belongings will be carried with horses or yaks from our local guides. The distance is around 12km with moderately challenging terrains; however, depending on the weather, we can always be flexible.

After breakfast, we will head to the Khotont sub-province to set up our camping in the foothills of the Khangai Mountains.
Today is for our preparation to enter Khangai Mountains National Park and the UNESCO-appointed World Heritage Landscape the next day.

Tuvkhun Monastery, one of Mongolia's oldest Buddhist monasteries, seats on top of a rocky and forested mountain at an elevation of 2,312 m.
We will reach the majestic monastery from the northern side after 12 km of hiking through the forest and small springs surrounded by hills. It is spectacular to observe the Khangai mountain from the top where the Monastery is located.
After our hiking, we will meet our vehicles down the mountain and head to our camping site in the wilderness of Khangai Mountains National Park.

As the name suggests (The Eight Lake), Lake consists of eight separate lakes named Shireet, Khaliut, Bugat, Khaya, Khuis, Mukhar, Duruu, and Bayan-Uul, and all of them are connected with each other through an underwater canal formed by millions of years ago.
Our hiking will continue from our camping site to reach Khuis Lake. As our vehicles are not able to drive to the terrain, we will be supported by local yaks and horses. The hiking distance will be around 15 km or depending on the weather we can choose shorter paths.

Our hiking destination is Shireet Lake, the biggest of all other 7 lakes.
The scenery alongside the lake is as incredible as your hiking experience with a viewing of the forest hills and grasslands. Our hiking distance will be 10 km supported by our yaks and hiking trip leader.

Our hiking over the steppe and lakeside continues to reach Horgoi Hurem are.
The scenery alongside the lake is as incredible as your hiking experience with a viewing of the forest hills and grasslands. Our hiking distance will be 10 km supported by our yaks and hiking trip leader.

After morning chill-out, we will head to Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes where we stay at the Bayangobi camp as a passage to Khustai National Park.
The entire day is for your leisure, you can ride horses or camels and explore the Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes.

After our breakfast, we will drive to Khustai National Park, a habitat of wild horses (Przewalski's horses) and many other species.
As soon as we reach the camp, attend the intro presentation of their activities and enjoy the viewing of the wild horses in the pasture.

After breakfast, UB is your next destination. Upon arrival, check into your hotel.
Today, we visit the Mongolian State Department store and Gobi fine cashmere. The evening is for your leisure.

Today, we will visit Gandan Monastery which is the most respected spiritual center among Mongolians.
We also visit the Mongolian State Department store and Gobi fine cashmere as well as Chinggis Khaan Museum & Cultural Center.
In the evening, we will attend to Tumen Ekh Folklore Concert, famous for its wide variety of dance and singing performances.
Farewell dinner at one of Mongolia's prestigious restaurants.

**Booking Procedure:**
Typically, initiate the booking process by submitting a pre-booking form. Alternatively, you can directly reach out to us by sending an email to dmc@discovery-mongolia.mn or giving us a call at +976 9938 4823. We are readily available to assist you. Upon receipt, we will promptly furnish you with all essential booking documents and subsequent steps.
A booking confirmation is secured upon a 50% deposit of the total tour cost. The outstanding balance is required to be settled 60 days prior to the tour commencement.
**Single Supplement Fee:** USD 150 (Please note that this fee might be subject to change, particularly if hotel room alterations are requested.)
