Our adventure kicks off with an exploration of the vast and captivating Gobi Desert, featuring towering sand dunes, rugged cliffs, breathtaking canyons, and otherworldly rocky formations. As we journey onward, the landscape gradually transforms into lush steppe, sprawling grasslands, and pristine lakes in the heart of Central Mongolia.
This itinerary boasts a moderate level of challenge, ensuring an enjoyable and accessible experience for all participants. Rest assured, our accommodation throughout the journey consists of traditional Mongolian ger/yurt camps, equipped with all the necessary facilities. This stands in contrast to some of our more demanding hiking adventures.
Moreover, you'll have ample opportunities to immerse yourself in the local culture by visiting nomadic families, embarking on horse and Bactrian camel riding excursions, and exploring the vibrant city of Ulaanbaatar.

The Itinerary.

Welcome to your discovery of Mongolia!
Upon your arrival at the airport or train station, your Discovery Mongolia team will welcome you and take you to your hotel centrally located in downtown Ulaanbaatar (UB).
Depending on your arrival time, we can explore the city and enjoy some walking around.
Meals are served accordingly. Stay overnight at your hotel.

After breakfast at our hotel, we will head to the south for Ikh Gazriin Chuluu Nature Reserve, where there is a lined rock formation in an area of about 600 sq. km, stretching 30 km in length and 15 km in width.
Our hiking will start in the next morning around these exotic rocky formations and continue up to 10-15 km depending on the weather conditions.
The scenery is remarkable with the special rocky formation and stargazing nights.

After our breakfast at the camp, we will head to White Stupa cliff (also known as Tsagaan Suvarga)
A gorgeous formation of natural beauty with wide-open panoramic views to all directions where you can enjoy a great evening.
White Stupa is one of our amazing destinations in the Gobi desert of Mongolia. Our hiking will begin the next morning and continue up to 10-15 km in distance.

In the morning, we will continue our expedition further to the south. Our destination for today is Dalanzadgad and Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park.
The National Park is famous for the Yoliin Am canyon or also known as the Valley of Bearded Vultures among travelers.
Upon our arrival, we will spend our time visiting local nomadic families at their sites and prepare for our hiking tomorrow.
The next morning our hiking will start from the Yoliin Am canyon and continue up to 10 km inside the canyon. Another excursion will be followed after our dinner at our base camp to explore the north western part of the canyon.

After our breakfast, our journey will lead us to Khongor Sand dunes, an immense sand dunes to the west. It stretches up to 180km.
During our excursion, we can climb the sand dunes and observe the sunrise and sunset of the Mongolian gobi desert.
Apart from great views and scenery for photo shooting, we can enjoy Mongolian two-humped camel riding (Bactrian camels) over the dunes and spend some quality hours.
Our hiking distance over the sand dunes (height of dunes 100-300 meters) will be 8 km on foot.

After morning chill-out at our camp, we will head to Bayanzag, also known as the Flaming cliffs, where archeologists discovered and reconstructed hundreds of complete skeletons of dinosaurs that crowded this territory over 70 million years ago.
The rock gives off a suitably glowing orange color and is seen in the light of the vastness of the Mongolian gobi desert.
Our hiking distance will be around 5 km as we dedicate the day to our relaxation.

After breakfast, we depart to Ongi Temple ruin, an ancient Buddhist temple complex. This part of our journey heads to the north and we shift more into the confluence of the Orkhon river.
Our hiking will be around 5 km in length following the river Ongi and sandy walls alongside.
You can enjoy a spa and massage in the evening at Ongi camp.

Our discovery continues to the steppe and hills with grasslands and rivers.
An excursion to Erdene Zuu Monastery and the ruins of the Karakorum, the 12th Century capital of the Mongol Empire, the largest contiguous empire in history.
Enclosed by a quadrilateral of imposing walls surmounted by 108 white Tibetan stupas, Erdene Zuu Monastery was one of the greatest centers of Lamaist Buddhism thought outside of Tibet.

This morning, we drive to the Lake Terkhi region, a beautiful lake in the midst of the Khangai Mountain ranges.
Upon arrival settle at your camp and enjoy the scenery.
The next morning, our hiking will start hiking around the lake and ancient extinct volcano Khorgo. Distance will be 15 km with outdoor dining on the lake shores.

After breakfast, we will drive to Lake Ugii situated on the steppe. Enjoy the scenery of Lake Ugii and join short boating in the lake.
Today, we can enjoy the evening and relax at our camp with an open fire outside.

Our discovery continues eastward to Khustai National Park situated 120 km from UB.
Arrive and settle at your camp in Khustai. After dinner, we will climb the Khustai mountains to observe Przewalski's horses in their pasture during the sunset.
Our hiking distance will be around 5km in distance.

After breakfast, UB is your next destination. Upon arrival, check into your hotel.
Today, we visit the Mongolian State Department store and Gobi fine cashmere. The evening is for your leisure.

Today, we will visit Gandan Monastery which is the most respected spiritual center among Mongolians.
We also visit the Mongolian State Department store and Gobi fine cashmere as well as Chinggis Khaan Museum & Cultural Center.
In the evening, we will attend to Tumen Ekh Folklore Concert, famous for its wide variety of dance and singing performances.
Farewell dinner at one of Mongolia's prestigious restaurants.

Typically, initiate the booking process by submitting a pre-booking form. Upon receipt, we will promptly furnish you with all essential booking documents and subsequent steps.
A booking confirmation is secured upon a 50% deposit of the total tour cost. The outstanding balance is required to be settled 60 days prior to the tour commencement.
